Indian Engineering Service Exam (IES):
IES is one of the most prestigious national level engineering competitive examinations in India and has been a dream of lakhs of students every year. It is comprised of all the engineers who work under the government of India and designated as Class – 1 officer. They administer a large segment of the public sector economy, which constitutes of Indian Railways, Power, Telecommunications, Central Water engineering, Defence service of Engineers, Central Engineering Service, namely.
The nature of work performed by these bureaucrats largely depends on their engineering branch and the service or cadre they are recruited in. The career progression goes smoothly attaining high esteem. The first position offered is that of Asst. Executive engineer and the hierarchy ends at the position of Chairman/ Managing Director.
Eligibility: At the minimum, a bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.E. / B. Tech) from a recognized university or equivalent is required with age limit of 21 to 31 years.
Graduate Aptitude Test Engineering (GATE):
GATE is a national-level engineering entrance examination. It is also one of the most prestigious engineering entrance exams.
GATE is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technologies at Roorkee, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Chennai (Madras) and Mumbai (Bombay) on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), and Government of India.
GATE is an examination that basically tests the candidate in various undergraduate subjects in Technology, Architecture, and Engineering and posts graduate in science.
ELIGIBILITY: B.Tech, B. Arch, Post B.Sc., Master’s degree (Science /Mathematics /Statistics /Computer applications or equivalents) can apply for this examination. There is no age limit criterion defied by the exam conducting authority to appear in GATE.
Common Admission Test (CAT):
CAT is the entrance exam for aspiring candidates who desire to make a career in management and business administration i.e. MBA. This examination is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) on a rotational basis. The CAT score is considered for admission by most of the top Business-schools across India apart from IIMs.
CAT entrance exam is an examination that evaluates the capabilities and the efficiency of a student and decides whether he/she is appropriate for the management job. If you are close to completing your graduation or have worked in the industry for a few years and are thinking to pursue MBA from one of the top Business-schools in India, then CAT exam preparation becomes very important.
Eligibility: Candidates has to pass their Bachelor's degree with at least 50% (for General Category and NC-OBC caste). For SC/ST and Differently Abled (DA) candidates, the percentage required is 45%. Candidates who have completed their professional degrees with over 50% (45% for SC/ST/PwD) are also eligible for CAT.

International English Language Testing System (IELTS):
IELTS is jointly owned by British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English. As one of the pioneers of four skills English language testing 30 years ago, IELTS continues to set the standard for English language testing today. Governments in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom use IELTS to process immigration applications.
Eligibility: The minimum age for giving the IELTS exam is 16 years. Anyone over the age of 16 can give the IELTS Test irrespective of nationality or background. Exceptions can be made where the school requires IELTS Scores for admission. There is no age limit or eligibility criteria set by the ETS, the body that conducts this exam, but it is preferred that the aspirant should have crossed 16 years of age.
Graduate Record Examination (GRE):
The GRE is a standardized exam used to measure one's aptitude for abstract thinking in the areas of analytical writing, mathematics, and vocabulary.
The GRE is commonly used by many graduate schools in the U.S. and Canada to determine an applicant's eligibility for the program. The GRE is primarily offered via computer; however, in areas that lack the appropriate computer networks, a paper-based exam may be given.
Eligibility: There are no specific eligibility criteria for the GRE exam. Anyone can register for this exam, irrespective of age or qualifications.
The only thing that a candidate is required to keep in mind is the fact that he/she would be required to produce their original passport as proof of identity at the exam centre, so candidates are required to have a valid passport before they register for the GRE exam.
Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT):
GMAT exam is a computer-adaptive test that assesses the candidates’ analytical writing, quantitative, verbal and reading skills in standard written English. This test is taken to get admission into a graduate management program, such as MBA and Masters in Finance related courses in top business schools across the world.
It is the most widely accepted exam for MBA admissions worldwide. No other exam has as wide acceptability as GMAT, as per the GMAC, globally 9 out of 10 MBA enrolments are made through GMAT Score. Further, 2,300 + schools accept GMAT Scores for giving admission. Also, there are 650 testing centres in 114 countries that administer the GMAT Exam.
Eligibility: As such, there is no set eligibility criteria set by GMAC, the body conducting GMAT for appearing for the GMAT exam. However, one should always meet the eligibility criteria set by the university/college one aspires to get into after giving the GMAT.
The candidate must have completed 18 years of age. Candidates who wish to enroll for an MBA programme should possess a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university
